Bilbul Public School has two sporting houses, Thorpe and Freeman.  Thorpe's house colours are blue and Freeman are red.  Children are encouraged to wear their house colours for the school Athletics Carnival.

 

Small School Swimming Carnival:

Bilbul PS combines with other small schools in the Griffith district for their swimming carnival early in Term 1.  Children who are 8 years or older have the opportunity to compete at this carnival.  Bilbul, Binya, Lake Wyangan, Rankins Springs, Tharbogang and Yoogali are the small schools that combine for this carnival.

 

Successful swimmers are then able to compete against other schools in the Griffith District Primary Schools Sports Association (P.S.S.A.) swimming carnival.

 

Cross Country:

Early in Term 2 Bilbul Public School has their cross country event at the Yenda Golf Club.  All children,  Kindergarten to Year 6 participate in the event.  Children, aged 8 years and older,  who complete the course in a competitive time represent Bilbul at the Griffith District Cross Country.

 

Athletics Carnivals:

Bilbul Public School has their own small athletics carnival held on the school grounds, generally in the middle of Term 2.  All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 compete in the track and field events which include 800m, 200m, 100m age race, high jump, long jump, discuss and long jump. Some activities are modified for the infants students.

 

The Small School Athletics Carnival is held after our own carnival and is for students aged 8 years and older. Bilbul, Binya, Lake Wyangan, Rankins Springs, Tharbogang and Yoogali are the small schools that combine for this carnival.

 

Gala Days:

Bilbul Public School students aged 8 years and older are able to attend Sporting Gala Days.  Bilbul has included mixed teams in for the Gala Days organised by the Griffith P.S.S.A committee whenever possible.  Gala Days that we have participated in include, Rugby League, Touch Football and Soccer.
